Description: The Scholarships Associate holds an important position within the scholarships team at the Greater Houston Community Foundation (GHCF). This position supports the Scholarships Manager with scholarship program administration, including collecting and maintaining scholarship student information in multiple databases; preparing and executing reports; scholarship check processing; and meeting and general administrative support. This position requires a strong commitment to working in a team setting, sound organization skills, the ability to work effectively with donors, students and parents, and others, while maintaining strict confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills. Skills: Job Responsibilities: • Manage the scholarship application processes by monitoring, receiving and processing documents, information and data; records management; and report preparation, analysis and execution from multiple databases. • Manage the creation and maintenance of scholarship applications within our online application system. • Provide troubleshooting assistance to online scholarship applicants. • Provide “front-line” customer service to students and parents, including answering calls and receiving and responding to emails. • Assist with the scholarship application review committees. • Assist with meeting logistics, including scheduling, resource ordering, preparing agenda and informational packets, and taking meeting minutes. • Manage all student and parent communications via email and text messaging. • Conduct research and keep abreast on latest developments in national higher education issues and best practices, and how they impact our students and scholarship funds. • Provide administrative support to the Scholarships Manager. • Assist with special projects and/or events within GHCF. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree required • 2-5 years customer service experience • 2-5 years experience in a professional office • Experience handling multiple assignments and prioritizing workload • Experience working with students and parents preferred • Experience planning and supporting meetings • Experience working with high net worth clients preferred • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality about donors and students and general business matters • Ability to have a positive and professional demeanor at all times, while maintaining quality customer service • Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to work successfully with a variety of clients and populations • Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan workflows, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage details, problem solve, meet deadlines and communicate progress regularly to supervisor • Solid computer skills for Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), database management systems and use of Internet, and willingness to learn customized foundation software
