Description: Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Constituent Events plays a key role in the leadership and management for the Chapter's Constituent Events to expand reach and increase revenue to ensure alignment with the Association’s strategic plan. The Chapter’s Constituent Events represent more than $2.5 million in revenue, and therefore, require a seasoned professional with demonstrated success surpassing goals and managing staff. Essential Job Functions • Provide manager level leadership, oversight and implementation of fundraising programs to ensure a diverse revenue stream from corporate sponsorship, corporate gifts, individual gifts and participant income for all fundraising events. • Responsible for achieving current revenue targets and expense budgets for Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, RivALZ Blondes vs. Brunettes, and the Houston Marathon Run for a Reason program with direct accountability for goals set forth in the annual budget. • Train, supervise and evaluate the work of Constituent Events staff. • Identify, recruit, train and manage high impact volunteers who will assist the organization in increasing concern and awareness as well as growing revenue across all Constituent Events. • Follow a comprehensive development plan that includes budgets, timelines, team recruitment and retention strategies, volunteer committee development, and logistics. Ensure alignment with best practices, standards and guidelines. • Participate in the development and execution of the annual strategic implementation plan for the Chapter. • Manage individual relationships to include securing new intermediate gifts while building a pipeline for major gifts. • Build an understanding for the Alzheimer's Association; its research, programs and services in all communications with current and potential and current volunteers and donors. • Represent Chapter at public and media events, as well as conferences and workshops. • Maintain relations
Skills: Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's degree required; Sales/marketing or related field preferred. • 8+ years professional experience in marketing, fundraising, sales, non-profit management, special events or related field. Experience with mass marketed events preferred. • Proven success in cultivation and solicitation of corporate sponsors and individual donors to meet fund development goals. • Prior experience with constituent relationship manager software (i.e. Convio Luminate, Blackbaud, etc.) preferred. • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, set priorities, delegate and meet deadlines with minimal supervision when faced with competing demands. • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Detail oriented, adaptable, organized and able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks. • Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of large events preferred. • Prior experience working with volunteer groups. • Outgoing, positive, engaging and enthusiastic. • Strong customer service focus to deal with a variety of personalities in a positive manner. • Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion. • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google+ required. • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends • Willingness and ability to represent Chapter at meetings and special events. • Ability to travel extensively in Chapter territory, as well as occasional overnight travel. • Valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance and access to reliable, personal vehicle to meet travel requirements. • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
